The final day of the Huntington Beach Air Show was canceled by city officials because of a huge oil pipeline leak estimated at 126,000 gallons off the Orange County coast. The 5.8 mile plume has forced the closure of the Huntington Beach beaches as well as the beaches in Newport Beach.
The city made the decision to cancel the final day of the airshow Sunday so they could focus on the spill and the massive clean up. While its sad that the last day of the airshow was canceled its understandable with the current situation where all resources should be used to protect and clean up the beaches and wetlands.
