I hadn’t visited The Lab the funky hip outdoor shopping mall not far from South Coast Plaza in a long time so I figured it was about time I did.
Of course I picked one of the few days in Southern California where it rained but the Lab was still busy. On a rainy day my first stop was the Nook Coffee Bar the Labs coffee shop. The staff was friendly and, the service efficient which is always good.
The place isn’t large but there is two l sections by the counter where you can sit as well as four seats along the side where you can watch the drinks being made always a plus. Watching the drinks being made is very cool and, unlike a certain big coffee chain the coffee wasn’t bitter and in fact was one of the best mochas i have had in a long time where you could really taste the flavor of the coffee.
There is a small case with premade food which looked good but i wasn’t hungry as well as bottled drinks as well as a case with jars of pudding which i will definitely have to try on my next visit. There wasn’t a lot of space if you wanted to work but the Lab has plenty of outdoor seating just a short walk away.
